413 Upfitting LLC Acquires Auto Trim and Sign
Bernardston, MA — January 1, 2026 — 413 Upfitting LLC, owned by Aaron Budine, is pleased to announce the acquisition of Auto Trim and Sign, a long-standing local provider of custom vehicle lettering, branding, decals, signage, and stickers. The transition comes as former owner Fred Wheeler retires after 45 plus years of serving customers throughout the region.
As part of the acquisition, Auto Trim and Sign will relocate to the 413 Upfitting Garage at 546 Northfield Road, Bernardston—located at the corner of Route 10 and Route 142. The move will streamline operations and allow both businesses to work under one roof.
“I’ve been a customer of Fred’s for years, and I’ve always admired the quality of his Lettering and signage work” said Aaron Budine, Owner of 413 Upfitting LLC. “With Fred retiring, it felt like a natural fit to bring Auto Trim and Sign into the 413 Upfitting business family. I wanted to keep this valuable service going locally and continue supporting the community that has relied on it for so long.”
Customers can expect continuity in core services, with plans for future growth. “Auto Trim and Sign will be moving to the 413 Upfitting Garage, and as we grow into the business, we look forward to adding new offerings over time,” Budine added.
Fred, the former owner of Auto Trim and Sign, expressed confidence in the transition. “It means a lot to see the business I’ve built over the years continue on with someone who has been a loyal customer and truly understands the value of quality work,” he said. “I’m happy to see it stay local and move forward in good hands.”
With the acquisition, 413 Upfitting aims to expand its reach, offering comprehensive vehicle customization solutions to Municipal and commercial clients throughout the Western Massachusetts, Southern Vermont, and New Hampshire Region.
